Iceland by way of France

It's official: we have booked our flight to France this summer, and naturally we are flying Icelandair--with a short stopover in Iceland on the way home! It was an easy call, as Icelandair truly had the best rates. Once again Thor, of Three Sisters Guesthouse promises that he, and Iceland, will take care of us.

This has all come about due to our choir trip, featuring performances at Notre Dame de Paris, the American Cathedral in Paris, Roen and Chartres. The reason I have been blogging so little is due to the increased time I am spending learning and practicing the music.

ECS, in a favorite blog of mine, Reykjavík Harbor Watch, recently wrote about a hot pot tour she took with some friends. I'm going to investigate if there are any tours that do that. Or, if we can plan a good, one day itinerary, we might rent a car and do it on our own. I had expected, on our next trip to Iceland, to spend a good amount of time in the museums that we didn't explore last time, due to having two active young men traveling with us (Gabe was 20 and Pete was 18). But now I am thinking that might be a better focus for a winter trip when we go to see the Northern Lights, and when we would stay in Reykjavik the whole time. So we'll probably do more outdoor stuff again this trip.

Of course, we're always open to suggestions! Batty's bookstore is high on my list.

Now that's my kind of thinking.
