First On My List

The New York Times January 7 edition featured an intriguing article, "The 41 Places to go in 2011." And Iceland was #4 on the list! Readers are sure to find familiar places as well as surprises. It's worth reading the article just to discover yet a few more reasons to get Iceland on the Brain.
The article didn't mention swimming

Iceland looked to be #1 of all those places IMHO. I only wish those of us in Minnesota still had direct flights in October! I'll never go through Logan (Boston) again!

We had many adventures during our long layover at Logan: we drove each other around in the luggage carts, ate, took naps, and toured the fancy hotel nearby where we were regaled with fancy gift soaps and things from a friendly cleaning person. And when we found ourselves having difficulty making change at one of the coffee shops, a man assisted us, thinking that we were foreigners--but we were just punchy! --We didn't have to spend the night there, though--that was not fun, was it Batty.

My eldest lives in Seattle- they've got year round service to KEF - perhaps we will combine a trip there with a trip to Iceland someday...

Bit of a roundabout route! Crazy! Guess if it's the polar route it makes sense, huh. Have an Olafsson to review for Valentines Day ...
