Brennevin Virgins No Longer

It's the one-year anniversary of the day we left for Iceland. We chose this special day to drink our mini-bottle of Brennevin. No, we never tried it while in Iceland. Yes, it tastes foul! It tasted so bad that I didn't finish my shot glass of Brennevin--I only managed 2 sips and one gulp. Ugh! John, however, is a True Viking. He drank his entire glass. Bad taste, wonderful, wonderful memories. Now it's time to go to bed...we get up in just a few hours to leave for California. I'll post our Brennevin pictures later.

Bless bless!

Awww, good ole Brennevin! I was pregnant almost the ENTIRE time we lived in Iceland so I missed out on the experience of drinking it. Maybe next time. You know...I'm meeting a number of people who are Iceland-o-philes...maybe we should plan an excursion together?!?!

Have a safe and fun trip. I'll miss you!

Bless, bless.

...It´s not that bad! Just try the Danish version (Akvavit) to say nothing of the Swedish.

Perhaps you think Coke tastes bette! Why do people like you waste their money on a trip to a country as beautiful as Iceland when you could stay at home and drink Nescafe and Sprite and be happy!

Brennevin is a sublime symbol of the quality of life that characterizes the world's oldest democracy! Perhaps this country could learn something from the Icelanders...

Huh. Maybe rotten shark-meat is a sublime symbol of your bad attitude, Skalholt??

Lots of people in Iceland mix Brennevin with Coca Cola to mask the taste. Though American Coca Cola is a bit different with the High Fructose Corn Syrup, maybe you should have tried that?

I actually enjoyed it. I bought two bottles of it and had a B-party... Well then I like to drink too... And I have such a love for all things Iceland, I'm partial...
